A DAY OF CELEBRATION AND THANKS - THE GRAND OPENING OF THE MATIX LUMBER BUILDING CENTRE

We are taking a look back on a very special day – the official Grand Opening of the Matix Building Centre.

Friday, September 10th through to the 12th, 2015, festivities commenced. We celebrated among friends, family, suppliers, customers, and colleagues as we prepared to open the doors to our new Building Supply and Project Centre – now open to the public, and serving both commercial and residential clients.

That Friday, staff were given the day off to join the celebrations and help decorate the space and set up games outside and in. We extended the invite in person, going door-to-door throughout the neighbouring communities. The sun was shining as we cut the symbolic ribbon – aptly taking a skill saw to a fine piece of lumber – to officially kick off the event.

$50,000 worth of prizes and giveaways were distributed, hot coffee was poured, and a delicious meal of bbq pulled pork was enjoyed and served up by the folks at Up South Barbecue.

The facility is expansive and at the same time welcoming, and we were very grateful to see it full of new and familiar faces, who were able to get the first glimpse of our selection of professional quality products and tools. Heartfelt speeches were delivered throughout the day by Sue Matic and Founder Tony Matic, among others.

“No one in this industry services its customers better than independent lumber and hardware dealers, and I think the customers in Headingley and the Winnipeg area are in for a real treat, because these folks know how to take care of people.”

- Ken Jenkins - Castle Buying Group

With eight years behind us since founding the company and five years since opening the Building Centre facility, and most recently the launch of our Exteriors Division, we are continually reimagining the space to better serve you. Stay tuned for exciting new updates on our showroom renovation and Project Centre.

Matix Lumber knows how to throw a grand opening party! Tons of prizes, pulled pork sandwiches and a ceremonial board cutting made the day memorable for all of their guests. We were there to capture it and create a short video so they could share the day’s excitement with their online audience.
