ABOUT THE FOUNDER: TONY MATIC
Tony was the founder of Matix Lumber – a father first and foremost, to both his immediate family and those he mentored throughout his career. He strived to ensure everyone knew the importance of family, hard work, and honesty both in personal and professional life. His clear-cut method of giving advice and his various open perspectives allowed him to positively influence and impact the people he came in close contact with.
In business, Tony was reliable, always fulfilling the promises he made, and those who worked with him knew that Tony looked for the result that would benefit every party, leaving everyone feeling like progress was made. His business methodology was always approached with know-how and a kind heart.
He was very well-known for developing strong bonds with First Nations communities, with many of his close friends being Chiefs and council members who shared a vision of First Nations community betterment. Tony created his own brand of social activism, employing many First Nations individuals to work on their own communities while spearheading projects to improve structural development on numerous reserves.
